The Sale Goes on - Without any phone line

Hi Everyone

Sorry about the time lapse but the sale has been going so well, I never get to the computer.

HOWEVER

This week we have had a major hitch, our telephone line has not been working.  I have spent hours on the phone to the phone people, (whose name I'm safer not mentioning), being told it will be fixed.  As I post this we still have no phone line.  So many apologies to everyone who has tried to ring us.

Our Internet is fine, so if you have been trying to place an phone order, you can place it on-line.

HOWEVER

We know that a lot of our customers prefer to order over the phone and not on-line.

We feel it is unfair that you have effectively been prevented from playing in our 30% OFF SALE.

So we are

EXTENDING OUR SALE  ON-LINE ONLY

Saturday 1 December is the last day for our 30% off  fabric sale  IN-STORE (see earlier post for full details).

We will extend the 30% off sale for all ON-LINE and PHONE ORDERS for fabric with a web-site code, until close of business on Saturday 8 December.

I just hope the phone is working by then.

WHAT'S NEW

A lot.  This is what has arrived during the sale.  It will take us a while to digest it all, but it is pretty yummy.

QUILT PARADE

In amongst the madness of the shop I managed to snap these quilts that came to visit.

Love the big stitch quilting.

This is the back!!!

Pheobe meets the Farmer's Wife or one of the other small block pattern quilts around.  What a clever idea.

Ever been given a big wonderful piece of fabric and didn't know what to do with it.  Turn it into a coverlet with big stitch quilting.

The needle is still in this great bed throw.

As I sit here another 5 boxes of fabric have arrived.  Wonder what's in them?

Marg Sampson George - Renovation Workshop

We still have vacancies in Marg Sampson George's Renovation Workshop this Sunday.  Don't miss out, you will regret it.

QUILT RENOVATION AND RESCUE!
Here's a quilter's dilemma.......what to do with the tops and blocks that are half-finished, or old, or boring or even loved-but-no-idea-what-to-do-next?
You could put them back in the cupboard and pretend you didn't see them or you can come to a Renovate and Rescue" class and breathe new life into these discards and bring them into 2012.

You might complete them by hand or machine...the method doesn't matter.

Bring your usual sewing requirements and you do need to include an un-picker!!!!

At the shop Sunday 25 November 10-3pm.  Cost $70.00.  Please call 9550 4947 to book your spot.
DON'T FORGET WE ARE ON SALE.  30% OFF ALL FABRIC.  YOU WILL HAVE THE SHOP TO YOURSELF.

Norfolk Island cont....

WHAT'S NEW

Quilter's Dream - Request Cotton wadding is back in stock.  Grab it while its here, they ship out of Virginia in the States and it may take a while for the next shipment to get here with all the Sandy damage.

I should pause here and say how terrible the damage from Sandy is and its seems to be getting worse as rescue crews get into the affected areas.  As Aussies we know how bad storm damage can be.  I hope that the worse is over and people can start putting there lives and their quilts back together.

Cutest new collection of 30's prints.  The panel is an instant baby quilt.  All of you who are about to be grandmothers, take note.

NORFOLK ISLAND QUILT RETREAT - CONTINUED

These are the four lovely local girls who are Quilt Norfolk.  In the October Retreat we had the choice of four tutors and eight classes.

Bookmark this website - www.quiltnorfolk.com.

They have up to two retreats a year.  The next is at the end of April 2013 with Gloria Loughman tutoring.  Which I think would be terrific.  The 2013 October Retreat is being planned as I write this.  Wonder who will be teaching next year? I can recommend this as a wonderful relaxing quilting holiday.

I did Michello Yeo's new quilt - Star of Bethlehem.

This is the hall Michelle's classes were held in.

My block, under construction.  I decided on a bright blue and chocolate palette for my quilt.

Michelle's quilt.   Michelle will be back up from Melbourne to teach at Quiltsmith mid 2013.  This could be one of the quilts she teaches.  I will post full details of Michelle's dates when they are finalised.

Michelle's classes were in the Mission Church Hall.  This is a small section of the tiled floor of the church.  Quilting was meant to happen here.

Then I did Amanda Daly's' Flying Stars - Japanese Folding technique.

Here is the lunch break.  Amanda's classes were held in the Garden Centre where we were surrounded by flowers.  Really enjoyed the class.

Here is my bits and pieces.  I will be asking Amanda to give some Workshops at Quiltsmith next year.

The flowers were beautiful.

This is the historic Government House.  Wouldn't you love to do "tea" under the trees.

Here is the lone pine of Norfolk Island .  It is very scenic.  I haven't mentioned the Duty Free shopping, but it was good too.

I can recommend Quilt Norfolk.

Norfolk Island Quilt Retreat

Hi everyone.

I'm back from a very pleasant break on Norfolk  Island.  Michelle Yeo was teaching at the Quilt Norfolk Retreat, and I went along for the ride.

I have never been to Norfolk Island so it was all a surprise.

Norfolk Island is beautiful.

Historic.

Here is Michelle on our somewhat historic 4WD tour of the island.  It is amazingly green.

Interesting to get to and from.  We came in by plane but it was fun to see people and cargo coming in by boat.

Sorry Blogger has stopped accepting more photos.  I will continue tomorrow, and show you what I made at the Quilt Retreat.

I have added the final photos to our Summer School Workshop List, which is in the post directly before this one.
