Meadowsweet 2 by Michael Miller arrived in store this week. Two different colorways and here's a sample.

Looking at these fabrics I could not hep but wonder how gorgeous they would be made into clothes. For example imagine them in this essential skirt pattern - $23.50.

Spots and more spots

   A great new range in store this week. It's Essential Spots from XLN.

 They have a lovely feel to them and the colours are stunning. Priced at $21.40 per metre. Will be on the website soon.

No sooner were they unpacked before some found there way into a shoppers purchases for the day. She's making a black and white hexagon quilt and some of these were just the ticket. We hope to be able to show you her progress in the future.

The Circa 1800's Club

The Circa 1800's club is for reproduction fabric fanatics. You can never have too many fabrics for those scrap quilts which are the hallmark of quilts of the 19th century. The club features latest release fabrics and classics of the period from well known designers of reproduction fabrics.

Every three months you will receive 10 Fat Quarters of quality, 100% cotton patchwork fabric, delivered to your door. Each mailing will co-ordinate on a theme, period or colour. Each mailing is $64.50, this includes postage within Australia.

Pieces of the Past - Web Sampler

For reproduction quilt enthusiasts, the Pieces of the Past - Web Sampler, is a fabulous concept. Australia's Michelle Yeo, has designed nine blocks typical of American block quilts of the mid-1800's. Combined with Judie Rothermel's Civil War Tribute fabric, a collection celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, you can create your own Civil War period masterpiece.

There are nine shops, around Australia participating in the Web Sampler. To create your quilt you need to purchase the nine blocks, one from each participating shop. Please go here for full details.

Once you have your nine blocks you can order a finishing kit of your choice from the relevant participating shop.

Japanese Style Patchwork Bag Workshop

Have you always wanted to learn how to make a patchwork bag. This is the workshop for you. There are two styles to choose from and I'm sure you will agree they are gorgeous.

The workshop is being taught by Michelle Huang who is a new teacher for us. 

The 2 day workshop will be held on:-

Thursday the 5th August  and Thursday the 19th August. 

The bags can be either hand or machine pieced. Both bags feature hand quilting which will be covered in the classes.

Cost is $100.00 for both days. Pop into the shop or give us a call if you would like to book.
