Michelle is back to teach at Quiltsmith on the 30th & 31st July and the 1st August. Michelle is a very popular teacher in Melbourne and we are pleased to welcome her back.
On Friday the 30th July we are offering the Giant Dahlia quilt.
There are three versions of this classic pattern for you to choose from to make a 60" square Dahlia block. The variations achieved by colour placement, in this quilt, are only limited by your imagination. You can extend the size of the quilt with various borders. This is a stunner.
Michelle will also be selling acrylic templates at the workshop (these are not required to make the quilt).
Cost for the full day is $90.00 and the workshop runs from 10am to 3pm.
On Saturday the 31st July and Sunday the 1st August we are offering Ballaarat Beauties.
This quilt is inspired by a number of circular patchwork designs from years gone by. Ballaarat Beauties consists of elements from antique quilts such as New York Beauty, Whig's Defeat, Georgetown Circle, Mariner's Compass and Sunburst, as well as many original designs. There are 36 blocks, each of which comprises a pieced quarter circle set into an 8" square. The squares are then straight-set together and the blocks can be laid out to form complete circles or twisted to create different effects. The sample is made from reproduction fabrics, however this quilt would look equally stunning in bright colours or more contemporary fabrics. It is machine foundation pieced for speed and accuracy or could be pieced by entirely by hand. Size 64" square.
Cost for the two full days is $210.00 (includes pattern cost of $30.00) and the workshop runs from 10am to 3pm on both days.
Please call the shop on 9550 4947 to book into one or both of these workshops. We also offer a 10% discount on purchases on the day of the workshop.
