Fussy Cut Friday 14

Hi Everyone

The heat is here but the shop stays cool.  Come on in for a browse during our sale, which goes to COB Saturday 8 November.

WHAT'S NEW

Marg Sampson-George's new pattern release, "Fly Away With Me" is available and frankly is just gorgeous, full of Marg's creativity and genius with fabric. You can get it on-line or in-store.

Marg Sampson-George just happens to be one of our stellar teachers here at Quiltsmith, and we currently have a few vacancies in her class on the first Tuesday of each month.  Why not take this opportunity to be guided by Marg through this beautiful project?

For French General fans who can recognise those little dots on the selvage from miles away, Rue Indienne, the latest collection from Moda has just arrived.  They've done it again and designed a collection with it's own character, yet distinctly from the house of French General by Moda.

We've also had some wonderful toiles arrive from Gutterman, Ring A Roses.  We don't think they'll be staying with us for long!

WHAT'S HAPPENING

Are there any others doing the annual Quiltville.com mystery with Bonnie Hunter?  We have some participants (hard core fans!!!) who were playing with some fabrics combinations today - rather gorgeous we think.  We're sure you could use just a little bit more variety in your stash for this project and our sale is a great time to stock up.

 THIS WEEK'S STARS

And last but not least, here are our stars for the week. As we've always said, these projects are slow burners - 'crock pot' quilts - but we're still having fun.  It gives us a lot of time to decide on the settings as well.

See you next week.

JANE MACDONALD WORKSHOP

PLAYING WITH TAUPES – SECRET GARDEN

SATURDAY & SUNDAY 29 & 30 NOVEMBER 2014

Jane will introduce you to the wonderful world of Japanese Taupes, their history, how to use them effectively and much more.
As part of the workshop, you will begin Jane’s beautiful wall hanging ‘Secret Garden’ which involves playing with taupe fabrics.  Learn how to achieve that subtle and sophisticated “look” of Japanese Taupe quilts.
In constructing the wall hanging you will use needle turn applique techniques, learn how to make three dimensional butterflies and how to embellish the quilt with embroidery stitches.
You could even use it as a central design for that Japanese taupe quilt you have been longing to start.
Jane is the owner of BeBe Bold in Lismore. She lives and breathes all things Japanese.  This is her first time teaching at Quiltsmith and we are soooo excited about having her.
Please call the shop on 02 9550 4947 for details and to book.
