We are lucky again this year to have Marg Light
back with some of her beautiful Kantha embroidery inspired projects. You will learn the basics of Kantha style
embroidery and come away with a lovely and useful object. In this workshop, students
will learn the traditional stitches of Kantha embroidery and how to work the
background stitching in the field of the fabric. These are mostly variations of
running stitch and simple filling and interlaced stitches, all worked with
stranded cottons in vibrant shades.
The two designs will be supplied on sufficient silk broadcloth fabric to make up a mobile phone pouch and a glasses case. Comprehensive notes will also be supplied. NB additional costs for the silk broadcloth apply.
