LYNNE ALCHIN Wednesday 14 January One Day $65.00
TROMPE LOEIL Machine piecing and applique
For
Summer School this year, Lynne has made a beautiful bright and scrappy
quilt. This ‘trick of the eye’ quilt is
very simple to make using quick machine piecing and easy covered paper piecing
techniques to create a look of multiple rows of elongated hexagons. Lynne has used her collection of Kaffe
Fassett fabrics but it would look stunning in Japanese indigos or lovely soft
and romantic florals as well.

TILE QUILT Hand piecing
This
is a new take on a vintage quilt.
Perfect for a child’s quilt or for the young at heart! Make four or six blocks to make a cot or
throw; or as many as you like. The
individual blocks are all done by hand and have a motif in the centre. These are then surrounded by “mosaic’ or “tile”
style applique. Lovers of folk art style
quilts and scrap quilts will love this quilt.

accurate cutting and walk you through her ‘tried and true’ construction method
for when six or more points meet in the centre of a block.
