Our Apologies for being a bit behind.

Hi Everyone

We are still trying to get on top of all the new fabrics in the shop.  As I speak we have another five boxes of fabric delivered.  I am in love with our new fabrics and have already talked myself out of stealing several bolts before they hit the shop.  I have shown restraint.

Consequently, we are behind on loading the fabrics onto the website.  It will happen!! Here is a snippet of the new stock.

WHAT'S NEW

We are particularly excited about this new Collection of solids from Jason Yenter.  The photo does not do it justice.  It also has the most marvellous handle.

FINALLY stock has arrive of YLI's Select thread in Ecru.  YaY, it's been months since we have had any.  So to everybody that has been asking, we have some now.  Sometimes it is the small things that make you happy.

SHOP PARADE

Look at this fabulous Elongated Hexagon quilt.  We found the perfect backing.

Hope you all have a nice ANZAC break.

Getting Back on Track

Hi Everyone

A big thank you to all who participated in our Sale.  We had fun, I hope you had fun.

We had some busy moments, but still I don't think we have space to put everything new out.

WHAT'S NEW

Very busy getting new fabric ready to scan for the website.

New Kaffe Fasset fabrics and Sarah Fielke's wonderful new book.

New Phillip Jacobs and Brandon Mably fabrics with Kim McLean's new pattern "Trees of the Four Seasons".  The new fabrics will work a treat in this masterpiece from Kim.

Pam Kitty

Love the beach themed 30's print. (It looks a bit 50s to me but who cares.)

New Judie Rothermel, just beautiful.

And many more boxes that we haven't even opened yet.  Stay tuned.

CLASS ACTION

Karen Cunningham's class. Wow.

Brigittte Giblin's class.

Sneak peek at Brigitte's new quilt.

WHAT I DID OVER EASTER

We have been so busy I haven't shown you what I did over the Easter break. After my sewing disaster at Christmas, I spent the three days in the classroom, just me and the machine.  It was good.  Of course I only managed half of what I wanted to do.  Here are two projects that are presentable.

From the Kaffe Fasset book "Quilts in Sweden".  I'm rather pleased with this.  More quilting!!!

Finally, I have finished the blocks for my Barbara Brackman, Block of the Week, from some time ago now.  I added some extra blocks that I had to make sure were period correct.  I just have to sew them together now, I am not using any sashing so the end result will look something like this.

April Workshop Update

Hi Everyone

We are still putting the shop back together after the sale.  Fabric is emerging out of the boxes, but like all good things, it takes a bit of time.

We have some great Workshops planned for April (and one in early May), which I thought you would like to know about.

MARGARET SAMPSON GEORGE

QUILT RENOVATION AND RESCUE!

Saturday 13 April                                         10am-3pm                 One Day                    $70.00

Here's a quilter's dilemma.......what to do with the tops and blocks that are half-finished, or old, or boring or even loved-but-no-idea-what-to-do-next?  You could put them back in the cupboard and pretend you didn't see them or you can come to a ‘Renovate and Rescue’ class and breathe new life into these discards and bring them into 2013.   You might complete them by hand or machine...the method doesn't matter.

Bring your usual sewing requirements and you do need to include an un-picker!!!!

LINDA BUTCHER

TEA CADDY PARADE

Linda’s original “Tea Caddy Parade” quilt has a gorgeous piece of fabric in the centre and an equally gorgeous appliqué border of an exotic parade – elephants, camels, oxen, dancing girls, soldiers, animals and much, much more. Whether you want to replicate the original quilt or customise it to your own design, Linda is there to provide all the assistance you need.  Small pattern fee will be charged.
