Jamberoo 2012

Every year we go to the beautiful Jamberoo Valley for our Quiltsmith Retreat.  This is a weekend that only involves eating, sleeping, drinking and sewing. A bit of talking happens too.  We have an almost continuous Show and Tell.  The shout "QUILT ON THE FLOOR" goes up and the pack races to admire.  Here are some photos.  Mark 2013's retreat in your diary now, its always the weekend after Mother's Day. (17 - 19 May 2013)

From this to this.

I love it when two versions of the same quilt turn up.

This is how Linda Butcher (staff member and teacher extraordinaire) treats her beautiful hand applique block.

Food!!!!

The perfect quilter's table.

What to do with that Dutch Fabric.

The creative spark - in the beginning.

I finished one, my Double Z quilt.  Notice the word finished!!!!!

I also finished my Applique Project No. 4.  Another one for the quilting pile.  Jamberoo was all about finishing things for me this year.

This picture epitomises the "Travelling Quilter".

Thanks to everyone who came and made it such a fun weekend.

She has booked her flights from Melbourne.  We have a few vacancies left in the classes running over the June Long Weekend.  Give the shop a call if you would like to book in.  All her quilts are featured in our 26 April post.

Look What's New

Hi Everyone.
The delivery trucks have been working overtime again.

WHAT'S NEW

Where to start!!!!

Amish with a Twist - Block of the Month
Amish With A Twist

Janet and I saw this latest delight from Marcus Bros in Houston last year.  It just glows.  This BOM is designed with the beginner quilter in mind, but many experienced quilter's will love it too.

It is short and sweet, as it runs for only five months.

Here are some close up photos I took of the quilt in Houston.  All the BOM details will be on out web-site.

John Hewson

Tavern Greens

Friendship

Love it.

Next delivery of New Kaffe, Phillip and Brandon fabrics

We also received quite a re-stock of other Kaffe fabrics, so if you are waiting on one check the web-site in a few days.  (We have to sort them all out.)

Tilda Nic Nacks

If you have seen the Tilda fabrics, I saw them in the UK and wondered why they were not available here.  Well they are coming.  We have had our first delivery of "accessories", beautiful tins.  I have a very soft spot for a good tin.  Wrapping paper, cards and ribbons. So pretty.

The fabrics are on there way.  Stay tuned.
