MEGA SALE DAY

Well our Mega Sale Day went off with a bang.  We had a steady flow of customers all day which meant not too much waiting for you all. The weather was kind to us too, as regulars will know, it gets pretty hot in here in the humidity!  Here is a picture of the shop not too long after we opened with our first enthusiastic quilters of the day.

We made Gail hold up her lovely red, black and cream oriental style quilt - she was looking for backing and binding for it.

It got a bit hectic after this, so didn't have time to stop and pull out the camera again.  Hope you all enjoy your purchases.

We have a couple of 'sit and sew' groups here at Quiltsmith and this was Geraldine's Group, as we call it, last week, their last one for the year.  Here is Rose with her version of Kaffe's Jewel Squares pattern.  Looks pretty good don't you think?

Geraldine and Sondra were busy at the machine and hand quilting.  While Linda was working that rotary cutter.  Linda just flew in to collect her quilt which Verna managed to get done for her before Christmas, look at that border glow!  It is Kaffe's Ombre stripe in Pastel believe it or not.

See you all next year!

Customer Quilts

Hi there! My name is Lindy and I will be helping with the Quiltsmith blog world.  Here are a few pictures of customers quilts which have passed through the shop. With their permission, we will be regularly posting them here for your enjoyment.

First up is Anthony's Yorkshire Coverlet which is almost finished. Fabulous fresh reproduction colours make this a stunner version of this wonderful pattern.  We have the pattern in stock, just give the shop a call.

Anastasia produced this extra cute and fun quilt for Alexander.  Isn't it gorgeous?  The Day in the Country solids would be perfect to use for something like this.  Have a look on the website under Fabric Palettes to find them.

This is one of Diane's wonderful quilts she picked up recently. A beautiful version of the Jacobs Ladder block with a reverse colour block.  See if you can work out which part is the actual block.  Easy when you work that out!

Here is Diane's black, white and red snail trail block quilt.  This photo does not do it justice.  It looked stunning in the flesh!

Colonial Prints II

This a spectacular collection featuring prints from around the 1830s period. It contains striking poison green, purple, yellow and mustard colours that will work beautifully in reproduction quilts.

Melinda recently bought this crib quilt showing how two fabrics and a great design can add up to stunning.

Look how well the fabrics in this collection would work in your own version.
